Sash Window Restoration Crowborough

Many homes in Crowborough still retain original sash windows — a valuable architectural feature that’s often repairable even when damaged. We specialise in careful, detailed sash window restoration, helping you retain the charm and detail of your home’s original design.

Our restoration services include:

Timber repairs using Accoya or hardwood to match the original frame
Replacing worn cords, weights, and pulleys for smooth operation
Draught-proofing using discreet brush seals to reduce heat loss
Reglazing with traditional or slimline double-glazed panes
Repainting with weather-resistant finishes that allow the timber to breathe

Our restoration process improves comfort and energy performance without altering the appearance of your period windows.

Sash Window Replacement Crowborough

If your original sash windows are beyond repair — or have been replaced in the past with modern styles that lack the appropriate detailing — we offer bespoke timber replacements that are true to the era and style of your property.

Each window is handmade in our Sussex workshop and includes:

Traditional box frame joinery with cords and counterweights
Optional spring-balanced systems for convenience where needed
Accurate mouldings, sash horns, and glazing bar configurations
Heritage glazing or double-glazing that mimics single-glass aesthetics
Durable finishes suited to the Crowborough climate

We install every window with care, ensuring a precise fit and finish that will last for decades.
Period Properties & Conservation

Crowborough includes many character homes and rural properties that require a sensitive approach to window design. We regularly work on homes in conservation areas or buildings subject to local planning restrictions.

Enhanced security

Reduced maintenance with high-quality finishes

We’re happy to advise on planning considerations and assist with listed building applications where necessary.
